Great app

Great app to learn vocabulary in the train on the way to work

Great for vocab!

Exactly what I needed for improving my vocabulary and keep a motivated study path!

Useful but limited.

JapanesePod101 is a great podcast produced by ILL (great acronym!), the company that makes this app. I think they really missed the ball releasing this app with such a limited vocabulary set. I have a premium subscription for their podcast, and use it everyday. It is excellent and well worth the money. When I first read about this app I bought it right away thinking I would be able to use it review all the vocabulary I am learning through their podcast, however, most of the vocabulary from the podcasts cannot be found in the vocabulary list in WordPower. The words in WordPower are useful, but having it complement their online course would be much more so.

Decent app!

Ok - so I blasted the free app and then went ahead and bought this one anyway!(I know, what a hypocrite!)But this app IS decent and useful. Layout is easy to navigate and the program doesnt have any gliches. If you are just starting to learn Japanese then its great- because you can see the words then hear, then practice. However if you are intermediate - advanced dont waste your money. Sound quality is poor - and there is only a female voice. For those of you that live in Japan, youll know that men and women speak and pronounce words very differently. Overall 3 stars - decent but limited, over-priced and vocabulary choice is a little odd. Do I really need to know how to say/recognize obsolete words? I am looking forward to some updates and have been enjoying the review this program has provided.

What happened?

I try to open the app, and it crashes. Anyone help?

doesnt open

I loved this app before but recently its stopped working...it just keeps loading forever with actually finishing loading. I got it working again by deleting and reinstalling it...but after a few days the exact same thing happened.

Lots of mistakes

The structure of this software is fantastic, but the translations have lots of mistakes. Obviously the maker of this software application was only concerned about making money instead of making a quality problem. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS PRODUCT!!!

Effective

Can help you learn new vocabulary, if you use it!

Great way to study and remember Japanese

A+

Not recommend

After finishing quiz it stuck hang. Beside not much explanation. Not worth to have it.

Needs to be worked on...

Unfortunately, this app is still rough on the edges... After only 2 minutes of random browsing Ive already found numerous errors and misinterpretations. Im really counting on a content update, since it can be misleading for a beginner student. The app has a potential though, keep up the good work!

GREAT RESOURCE!

Such a great app for learning a ton of words. It is so helpful to learn a bunch of different words ALONG w/ studying how to read and write. I wouldnt use this as your only form of learning Japanese but it is a great tool and addition to anybodies study tools : )

Nice! BUt could have more...

This is a good study tool, I thin there could also be more features and words. Also having something that can make flashcards would be beyond amazing! But when it comes down to it this is a great application!

need to be able to add/remove a whole category to the word bank...

At the moment it is too difficult to manage the word bank we have to add or remove each word one by one. With that update, this would be 5 stars.

The Perfect Way to Master Your Vocabulary

WordPower Japanese is the best vocabulary app for the Japanese, not because it allows you to to have an easy reference to an organized list of common and useful words, but because it gives you the tools to master pronouncing those very words by being able to listen to yourself talking, and to compare it to a correct pronunciation.

Great for Reference or Building Vocabulary

Just like the Korean one, this is a very strong application for building your vocabulary. 2000 words structured in very coherent and very nice categories. Excellent way to learn, and retain japanese vocabulary. Pros: Flashcards are very useful. Tons of useful, everyday words. Great way to learn and keep learning on the go. Great for reference as well. Cons: Sound is a bit soft, but still bearable. All in all, a really great application.

Needs work (;_;)

It helps to some degree. This app wont teach you much. I think its mostly intended to be for studying. So adding a feature where you can make your own flash cards would be very, very useful. And, if it is intended to teach you Japanese then more vocab and more phrase examples. Till then, only 3 stars.

Good Learning Tool

Good flashcard based system I can learn at my own pace. A few improvements will make of even better: 1. Include usage examples of each word or expression. 2. All category list should list words in alphabetical order instead of by catergory. 3. List related words in each flashcard. 4. Some words are duplicated. 5. More words would be better. I think 4000 words would be great.

English grammatical errors
